DISCOVER A NATION

This package provides an introduction to the family games played by our ancestors during the winter. Discover these activities from the past and take time to simply enjoy yourself.

Guided tour of the site:

• Annonchia: Visit of the Long House ;
• Explanation of the Huron way of life prior to the European arrival;
• Comments on the traditional way of life;
• Explanation of the size of the Long House, the number of people living in it, the construction materials used etc.

Inside Activities:

• Introduction to animal skins ;
• History of the Huron-Wendat, reading of a map and telling of the legend of the creation of the World;
• Meaning of the masks, of the "False-Faces" and legend.

Special Activities:

American Indian games
"The crab race"
Objective: to develop physical endurance in the young
participants.
"Protect your reserves"
Objectives: to develop hearing abilities in the young participants.
