GUIDED TOUR OF THE TRADITIONAL HURON SITE
Upon their return from their stroll in the forest, visitors are welcomed by the Welcoming Dance and to the rhythm of the Tam-tam. They enter the Huron housing called the Long House where they discover how our families lived. Visitors are directed to the Drying tent and Smokehouse used as methods to preserve the products of hunting and fishing. Visitors then enter the Giant Sweating tent where they are welcomed and purified by our Shaman, following which, they are invited into a great Tee Pee to listen to a presentation on the history of the Huron and other Indian Nations. Their guide explains the commercial relationship between the French and the Huron around 1750. The visit concludes with our last exhibit where we present the modern situation of the Hurons
